Community Protection and Evacuation Plan (CPEP)
As a result of the Firestorms of 2003, the Board of Supervisors directed the County of San Diego, through the Office of Emergency Services (OES), to ensure the creation of community protection and evacuation plans. OES is dedicated to assist communities in unincorporated areas of San Diego County with developing their Local Plans.
The Community Protection and Evacuation Plan (CPEP) is a community based planning effort in which community members:
• Identify hazards • Prioritize mitigation and preparedness efforts • Investigate funding sources • Ensure multi-agency cooperation
Select your zip code at the top of the screen to learn if there is a CPEP established in your area.
